Another New Day.

It eludes me, why the happiest couples are often, not the most spirituality minded.

What the Apostle Paul says is, then true. I'll paraphrase:' If you
are single, your heart is for The Lord and the things of the Lord.
If you are married your responsibilities and focus is toward your
spouse.' from I Cor. 7:32

I would add this response from "Becoming Jane"- "And rightly so!"
This saddens me as it pulls me apart. I am so heavenly minded, that
I am of no earthly good." (author unknown).

Paul also says. (Again my paraphrase). 'If you are married don't
desire to be single. If you are single, don't desire to be married.
But be content, whatever you are.' from I Cor. 7:27

Our churches and our society lead us to believe the opposite, by not
honoring the single person and by putting marriage as an idol. As if,
God is more pleased with us,when we are married. This indicates to
some, that to be married is more honored or respected, that to be
single. I.e. marriage is the goal. If marriage is your goal,
let's say you have "achieved" this goal. Do you compromise any part of your walk with God, to keep that goal? God must be first. Are you goal oriented?
That is, will you, now having achieved the goal of marriage, now
look for another goal to conquer? Marriage,Singleness,... Life is a journey, a walk. Not an end.

Don't get me wrong. God is for you, married or single. You give your
whole life to Him,and you are complete, single or married. There
should be no bias. Honor to those who are blessed to find someone to
share their life with. And honor to those, who choose to continue in
the marriage with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Honor is is the key.

You are formed by a perfect creator, in His image for His glory.
If we get that, it doesn't matter if we are single, married or a
dating couple. He needs to be our identity.

If you are single, devote your time to God and ENJOY,the power of it.

'Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man or
woman sows, that will they also reap.' from Gal.6:7

Sow joy, not doubt. Sow happiness, not regret. Sow blessing, not
blame. You will reap a harvest.

'Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast.
It does not rejoice over wrong doing. It does not seeks one's own
benefit. It does not give up.' from I Cor 13:4-7

Sow love. Reap a bountiful harvest.
