Technically Social

Who would have thought even 10 years ago that technology and social skills could marry? There were discussions back in the early 90's among the consortium of usability. Part of the problem was a pride issue. The chasm of techies and socialites. But with the innovation of cell phones and people who love them. This gap has gotten smaller. Video games are loved by pretty much every child in the 21st century. Instead of a generation of TV watchers, we now have a generation of video game players. Games, once only enjoyed by "geeks" and "nerds" are common place today and are much more user friendly. The non-profits need for a cheap marketing solution, have caused social networking to skyrocket. Now anyone can be their own internet radio DJ. Or how about an author? This can be done online, as well, via the once infamous blogs. Who would have known, that companies, TV media and radio personalities would not even consider being without a blog today. Not to mention, you must also have a valid web page, to be considered a legitimate source these days.

Email a friend, video chat online, text chat online or via your cell phone. Create an internet video program for the whole world to watch, play a video game with someone in another country. We have come into the New World. For better, or for worse, we are here.

Blessings to you this day.

Living Real Life

False personalities.
Hmmm. There's actually a virtual game that people play, called "second life".
It's a fantasy game. But, everyone in it, is aware that the persona is not the "real" one. My convictions do NOT allow me to join this game. But then there are real people who are sucked into a virtual world, as if it is true Life. It's so easy to get caught up in this "life" that is not real.

"Wherever there is a negative thought, God has place a positive thought right next to it!" - Graham Cooke. 'For what Satan meant for evil, God meant for good!'(based on Gen 50:20) I love that God is so good ! Isn't God awesome?!

I've been listening to Graham Cooke, who says something along those lines.
"Whenever someone offends you" I would say:'gives you challenges' (my words in the single quotes) "get their home address, write out a blessing for them and mail it." He continues with " You don't have to sign it. Imagine. They are getting blessed and they don't know it is you. They would probably have a fit, if they knew it was you. Get it, beloved? Do the opposite of what the ENEMY most wants you to do. Make it a game. The Holy Spirit loves games and He's good at it."

I'm not saying to write the letter to all people who offend you.

I think the point is to "bless others and pray for them." We all know this! But in our frustration we may be tempted to be "holy spirit Jr.""- Joyce Meyer

"Make it a game" what a quote!!! This reminds me of a must-see movie called "Life is Beautiful" It's a story of perspective. How we look at life. Even in the horrific times, the perspective given to the little boy was "this is a game" and because of that, the boy is blessed far beyond, what would have been otherwise.

This is not to say that believers can't be held accountable. We should gently correct each other. Some people need a soft hand, and others a more firm one. Well that takes discernment, doesn't it?! ;-)
But as for unbelievers, they are trapped in their sin and not free. They
need prayer for salvation. But God is able! His arm is not too short!! I believe that He can reach into these people's homes and grab them into His arms. If God directs, then we can act on pulling folks out of the pit.

Oh, but so many are lost and in need of salvation!

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord, (the one who rules your life) and Savior (the one who died then conquered death and the grave by becoming The Way to live eternally in heaven) Then consider it. Ask Him. What are you afraid of?
If you don't believe, what would be the harm in asking?! I am taking "The Love
Dare." Will you?

Help Our Unbelief !

"One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, "Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won't let him talk. And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn't do it."
The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can." "What do you mean, `If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." The father instantly cried out, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!" When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. "Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak," he said. "I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!" Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, "He's dead." But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up. Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, "Why couldn't we cast out that evil spirit?" Jesus replied, "This kind can be cast out only by prayer. " Mark 9:17,18,23-29

Jesus asked"What do you mean 'if I can'?" This is so classic! So many are proud to not believe that Jesus can heal. This isn't just for this small group of people 2000 years ago. How are we thinking? Praying? With belief that God can heal? Or with a sense of "Well, if you can, God, please heal them." Perhaps we think, this is a way to have a humble attitude. Jesus corrects this view and calls it unbelief and doubt.

Or what about the prayer: "I'm just asking you to heal this person." The context of this attitude, appears to be the same attitude, of unbelief. When will we believe Him and who He is, in all that He is. "I AM" IS. He's the Healer; He is Love; He is our Provider. And there are many other names that show His Goodness,His character. Help us to believe, Lord. Let the request of the father, in this passage, be our prayer. "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!" -Amen.
